At Goodwill, we are grateful for our shoppers and those who donate the goods found in our stores, because they support our programs, helping people find housing and bringing healthy food to our neighbors.

Tonight, more than 200 people in our region will spend the night without a safe home to sleep in.
Goodwill Northern Michigan operates community programs and builds systems that help people find home in Northern Michigan. Programs like the Goodwill Inn, Street Outreach and our supportive housing programs and transitional housing community for veterans work with families and individuals to build long-term housing success. Together with community partners in the Northwest Michigan Coalition to End Homelessness, we’re working to make homelessness rare, brief, and one-time in Northern Michigan.
Food Rescue rescues, harvests, repacks, and distributes 2 million pounds of food annually — that’s $3.34 million worth of food!
Each day, Goodwill Northern Michigan’s Food Rescue brings 8,000lbs of food to more than 70 food pantries and community meal sites in the Northwest Food Coalition, and 42% of it is fruits and vegetables. We partner with 185 organizations to distribute food equitably across a rural five-county area twice the size of Rhode Island.
