Meals on Wheels
Goodwill's commercial kitchen, in
partnership with Northwest
Michigan Community Action Agency , provides nutritional meals for area
seniors in the Meals on Wheels program.
Meals on Wheels offers a nutritional program serving homebound seniors, with several meal options. A hot meal, a snack and a light lunch delivered by a friendly volunteer each weekday warm the spirit of qualifying seniors. Frozen meals may be provided for weekends and in some cases also available to spouses.

Lack of nutrition results in susceptibility to
illness, longer term health risks, low self-esteem, lack of sleep, stress and
low energy levels. With the cycle of poverty and homelessness, eating right is
not always an option, eating at all is sometimes challenging. Yet nutrition is
one of the most important resources we have to maintain all levels of a healthy
life.
The Goodwill Inn recognizes this critical need and provides three meals daily in a congregate setting to our homeless residents. Annually over 45,000 meals are served.
