through Goodwill's Holiday Needs program.
The mission of our Holiday Needs program is to make sure that no child, family or homeless individual is left out of the wonders of the holidays because they are poor or homeless or otherwise in need at this time of year.
You can truly make a difference in bringing delight and a smile to a child, a sense of dignity to a parent, a glimmer of hope to a homeless individual, all of who have been confronted with personal and economic challenges. We have seen an incredible increase in families and individuals needing assistance this year.
Your previous support has helped us provide assistance to many in need. Last year alone your support made it possible for 857 people, including 467 children, to experience a sense of wonder, joy and thankfulness.
Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge Helps Holiday Needs Program
Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan is honored to be the recipient of a $15,000 challenge grant for the Holiday Needs Programs as part of the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge. Founder and Chairman of the company that bears his name, Art Van Elslander crossed the state of Michigan celebrating Art Van Furniture Stores, 50th Anniversary, by announcing $1 million dollars in challenge grants to 50 organizations supporting programs serving children as well as health and human services.
